Hurley Village Association is a local charitable association that works to support and improve community life in Hurley. It brings residents and village organisations together to provide activities, facilities and opportunities that benefit the local community. Its aims include advancing education, supporting recreation and leisure, and improving quality of life for people in Hurley and the surrounding area. The Association is non-party political, non-sectarian and open to the community.

Our Mission

Hurley Village Association exists to support and improve village life in Hurley. It is a local charitable association set up for the benefit of the inhabitants of the ecclesiastical Parish of Hurley, bringing people and community organisations together to help provide facilities, activities and opportunities for residents.

 

The Association’s purpose is to advance education, encourage recreation and leisure-time activities, and support social welfare for the benefit of the local community. Its work is intended to improve the conditions of life for people living in the village and surrounding area.

 

The Association is non-party political and non-sectarian. Membership is open without distinction, including on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, race, political opinion, nationality or religion.

 

The Association may organise meetings, lectures, classes, exhibitions, training courses and other recreational activities. It can also share information, publish materials, raise funds, receive donations, manage property, work with other organisations and support projects that further its charitable aims.

 

Hurley Village Association is managed by a General Committee, which includes honorary officers, elected members, representatives from affiliated groups and sections, and co-opted members where needed. This structure helps ensure that village groups and residents have a voice in the Association’s work.
