"Gorgeous on Thames"

Welcome to the village of Hurley
Hurley is a riverside village in Berkshire, set on the River Thames between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow. It is a place where village life and river life sit side by side, with moorings, Thames-side walks, historic buildings, great places to eat and drink, and a strong local community.

Hurley’s recorded history goes back at least to the Domesday Book, which describes a settlement with a church, a mill, fisheries and a recorded population of households in 1086.
After the Norman Conquest, the land at Hurley was associated with Geoffrey de Mandeville, and the village developed strong religious roots when the church at Hurley became linked to a Benedictine priory, described as a cell to Westminster Abbey.
Today, that deep history is still part of the village character, alongside the everyday rhythm of river traffic, walks, pubs, and community events that keep Hurley feeling lived-in rather than museum-perfect.
